On Friday June 29th the final showing of “America’s Best of Philadelphia” will air on ionTV at 7:30 am in our area. We are thrilled that our practice was chosen to be one of the businesses featured on the episode. The America’s Best show travels around the nation and selects notable business and institutions to spotlight. We owe a lot of people our thanks.
A huge thank you to each and every one of our patients who participated in the actual filming. While only a few segments made the final edit we are thankful for each person who gave up their time to come and speak about our practice. We now have all of our footage and over the summer we will have more video to share on our website. While not every patient participated directly everyone contributed. Without the positive feedback, word of mouth and wonderful recommendations we would not have been chosen.
Our dental team worked so hard getting the office ready for the production crew They helped with the preparation as well as the actual filming. Our office would not be what it is without the fine people who come here to work every day. We cannot say thank you enough. The day of the filming was long and exhausting, everyone contributed above and beyond the call of duty.
Those lovely purple scrubs we wore (and continue to wear on Monday’s) were sponsored by Smart Scrubs, one of the leading American manufacturers of medical uniforms. We appreciate the attention to detail that went into their participation. Thank you Smart Scrubs
The Production Team
The producers of the show followed this every step of the way – thank you for a great representation of our office. Being part of the “America’s Best” show was a terrific experience.

We are aware of a recent study that associates yearly or more frequent dental X-rays to an increased risk of developing meningioma, the most commonly diagnosed brain tumor. The Brandywine Smile Center’s long-standing position is that dental X-rays are only ordered when necessary for accurate diagnosis and treatment. Since 1994 The Brandywine Smile Center has utilized digital radiography in order to further lessen radiation exposure by as much as 90% over conventional dental x-rays.
While we recognize the recent study is unreliable as it does not differentiate the high doses of radiation that was standard practice decades ago, we always strive to reduce radiation exposure to all of our patients. We follow the ADA recommendation to minimize exposure and protect the health of all of our patients.
Dental X-rays are valuable in helping us detect and treat oral health problems at an early stage. Many oral diseases can’t be detected on the basis of a visual and physical examination alone, and dental X-rays are valuable in providing information about a patient’s oral health such as early-stage cavities, gum diseases, infections or some types of tumors. How often dental X-rays should be taken depends on the patient’s oral health condition, age, risk for disease and any signs and symptoms of oral disease that the patient might be experiencing.
As always we are here to help answer any questions.
